Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: ½ cup
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup
- Brown sugar: ½ cup, packed
- Unsalted butter: ½ cup, melted
- Eggs: 2 large
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Chocolate chips: ½ cup, semi-sweet
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until well combined.
- Step 3: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and cocoa powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 5: Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Step 6: Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with fudgy crumbs. Let cool completely before cutting into squares and serving. To mimic Chewbacca, use melted chocolate to pipe fur-like designs on each brownie.
Notes
- Store leftover Chewbacca brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to keep them soft and chewy.
- For a warm, Wookieeworthy treat, microwave individual brownies for 1015 seconds until slightly heated through.
- Serve these chewy treats with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra galactic dessert experience.
- Don't overmix the batter; a few streaks of flour are okay, as this helps keep the brownies fudgy and prevents them from becoming tough like a stubborn hyperdrive.
